a life of abundance

In life, we sometimes wish we were like other people. Even in civilian life, where we are subject to everyday concerns, unlike our famous counterparts, we have issues when it comes to comparison. In life it’s important to remember that we are destined to live our own lives, as we are confronted with our own individual problems and compromises, as well as personal challenges. In life our personalities contribute to what we end up doing, and sometimes whether or not we are successful.

If we go on places like LinkedIn and Instagram, and compare our lives with that of our peers, or with complete strangers who post online, we are opening ourselves up to negative thoughts that do not contribute to our current goals. It is not up to us, in the end, if we get the job. It is up to the person who is hiring, and God. Our lives are completely orchestrated by the most high and in the end, it is not what we think should happen that matters, it is what we do to make our lives the best it can be for the present. Life can be a challenge or it can be a daily struggle, but in some cases, it can simply just be.

What is most important to remember if you ever feel like you are not achieving your best, is to remember that life is short. It can be cut short at any time. It is not promised to anyone. It is essential that you look to your future as a present, a gift, not a guarantee. Sometimes we plan all we can for something to make sense, for life to be more meaningful. It can be as meaningful as we make it for the time being. That’s all we can do. Most people – if they are not unemployed – work for the time being. Some of them live their best lives by having jobs and experiences that seem enviable but require a tremendous amount of sacrifice. Count your blessings, live for the time being, and stop feeling unworthy of respect because you didn’t achieve the same greatness as your peer. You are doing your best. You are not your peer. Do your best work and live for the present. That is all you can do.
