Do you struggle with mental illness? Or, are you trying to make your voice heard? Is life an uphill battle of understanding why people around you won’t take you seriously? Is life just too difficult to manage sometimes because people are not getting the point?
Sometimes we have to self -advocate for ourselves because in the end, the results of our actions fall back on us. We need to understand, especially those who suffer with illnesses, that NOT EVERYONE will understand the full extent and nature of what you’re suffering with, and that’s why it’s important to work within your own parameters. Life isn’t simple. People will always come to you with opinions and their idea of guidance, when in fact, they’ve got it all wrong – or perhaps they’re ignorant or misguided.
The best advice that I can give you is to live according to what works best for you. In life, especially for those with mental or physical challenges, it is essential that we have been trained on what to do in dire circumstances, and have a plan set in action to help us and others close to us when things happen. It’s not enough to sit around and hope for the best, and expect others to fill in essential roles in our lives when things fall apart. It’s a bonus if we do have people who are able to do such a thing, but the essential thing is that we self – advocate and work from a place of knowledge and trust.
