What does it mean to be in a home? Is it somewhere where things are great, or where things are challenging? Is it with friends, enemies, loved ones, or ordinary people? Is it with someone you love, or with someone you wish would leave? Are you full of joy at home, or are you full of despair? Is it a house, an apartment, a car, a trailer, a mansion, or even a castle? Is it somewhere you wish you knew how to leave, because of a bad environment, or is it a place of serenity?
Homes can be a funny thing. It depends on who lives INSIDE them which separates a house from a home. Life inside a home makes it what it is. And even when you are alone, a house can be a home. I’ve met a lot of people who lived inside of lovely homes but wished they had happier lives. And then I’ve experienced many homes that weren’t as nice but were full of love. What matters most is what we do in our homes to make God pleased. It is HE who matters most inside a home, and a home without God is not worth living in.
