a life of paralysis

Do you feel stuck in what you’re doing and who you are? Do you feel that leaving a current situation is impossible? Do you feel terrible when you think that leaving anything – a current job or a marriage is not as easy as it seems? Or, do you wish you could leave your current situation and move on to something more admirable?

Sometimes we experience a phantom paralysis – that means, we are eventually going to move out of where we are but we are experiencing all the symptoms of permanent paralysis. This is not to say that sometimes we belong where we are, and in time, we will see it more clearly. What we do need to realize is that we are on the way to something greater, as long as we realize that life is on a constant path of movement. What we end up doing is even more impressive than what we set out to do!

Other times we are actually paralyzed, and we can’t move. That isn’t a permanent problem. What we do is find other ways to move. We find other mechanisms to move forward. And in the end, we reach the same goal as everybody else.
