a life of forgiveness?

We have all heard the scriptures about forgiveness. Sometimes we should turn the other cheek in the name of keeping the peace. Peace is, after all, what God and Heaven is all about. But what are we losing in the process? Does God truly want us to turn the other cheek to our enemies and forgive them?

What are we doing when we forgive our enemies? I believe that we are almost excusing their behavior. And when we do that, we excuse the Devil. Are we here to excuse the Devil or dismiss him? And what do we do when we allow this evil to run us over?

God wants us to be strong in our foothold and withstand until the final days, and when we allow Evil to triumph in our lives by turning the other cheek, we dismiss nothing but our own sense of self – esteem and self – worth. Stand firm against evil and recognize it for what it was or is in your life, and let it be a source of knowing how not to treat people. Let it be a lesson in what not to do. Love is good for those who understand God, however, when you extend that love to an enemy, you are loving the Devil. Loving the Devil is not what we as God’s followers must do. So contrary to what is written, I believe that loving your enemies is a wrong way to handle it. The BEST way is to dismiss evil and exist in loving those who love God.
